Custom Front Panels and Enclosure Panels
A rectangular plate with a window in the middle and a hole in each corner; the template is called "Enclosure Panel" in the configurator. It closes an enclosure, carries a display or a connector and is held by four screws. Width, height, cutout, hole diameter and hole inset are free; the panel comes flat and bright in aluminium, stainless or steel.

What it is for: Front panels for device and electronics enclosures, display windows and indicator bezels, lids and back panels with a fan cutout, connector fields for a single plug or switch, cover plates for wall openings, control bezels.

Price per piece incl. VAT, plus shipping, for a panel with a centred window and four holes for M4, computed when this page loads with the configurator's own formula. The cutout counts as cutting, so a larger window costs a little more.
The limits that matter for this panel
- Size: 50 to 1000 mm in both directions, corner radius up to 30 mm. The cutout sits centred, 10 to 500 mm wide and high, with a corner radius of its own.
- Holes: four equal holes in the corners, 0 to 12 mm diameter, 5 to 50 mm from the edge. Further holes or a second cutout are done in the sketcher.
- Material: aluminium AlMg3 in 1 to 4 mm is the classic for front panels, stainless 1.4301 in 1 to 5 mm for kitchens and outdoors, steel DC01 up to 2.5 mm for indoors.
- Tolerance: ISO 2768-m, which is ±0.3 mm on sizes up to 120 mm and ±0.5 mm up to 400 mm. A display that is to sit in the window without a bezel therefore gets 0.5 to 1 mm of clearance.
- Surface: bright off the laser, without anodising, paint or lettering. Deburring is available. Lettering can be cut through the panel as a cutout, see the template for metal signs.
Common questions about custom front panels
- Can the panel have several cutouts, say for USB, D-sub and a switch?
- The template has one window. Open it in the sketcher and draw further rectangles and circles, or upload a DXF from your CAD; the price updates with every cutout.
- Which thickness for a front panel?
- 2 mm aluminium is stiff enough for panels up to about 300 mm and still easy to drill afterwards. 1.5 mm saves weight; from 3 mm the panel feels solid. Take stainless in 1.5 mm, which is about as stiff as 2 mm aluminium.
- How do I fix the panel to the enclosure?
- With four screws through the corner holes: 3.4 mm for M3, 4.5 mm for M4. If the enclosure sits behind the panel, make the hole inset the enclosure's wall thickness plus half a screw.
- Does the panel fit a 19-inch rack?
- Yes. A 1U blank is 482.6 × 43.6 mm; the rack's holes are 465.1 mm apart and 31.75 mm above each other. Since the template knows only one inset for both directions, place these holes in the sketcher, best as slots of 6.5 × 10 mm.
- Can I get text or a logo on the panel?
- We do not engrave or print. Cut text, where the letters go through the panel, is possible: as a cutout in the sketcher or, for a plain sign, with the template for laser-cut metal signs.
