Metal Plates Cut to Size by Laser
A rectangular plate at exactly the width and height you need, with rounded corners if you like; the template is called "Flat Plate" in the configurator. Steel plate, stainless plate or aluminium plate: the laser cuts it from the sheet with a clean, square edge and no saw burr. Holes or cut-outs are added in the sketcher, or you start from the mounting plate with its hole grid.
What it is for: Cover plates and blanking panels, base plates for furniture and shelving, stainless splashbacks and back panels, packing plates and spacers, shims in spring steel from 0.2 mm, blanks to drill and weld in your own workshop.

Price per piece incl. VAT, plus shipping, computed when this page loads with the configurator's own formula. For a single small plate the setup is the largest share, so three times the area costs far less than three times as much. With quantity the setup is shared out, and area, material and thickness count for more.
The limits that matter for this plate
- Size: from 10 × 10 mm up to 1150 × 550 mm, the largest that still ships as a parcel. Corner radius 0 to 50 mm, at most half the shorter side.
- Material and thickness: steel DC01 1 to 2.5 mm, structural steel S355MC 3 to 6 mm, stainless 1.4301 1 to 5 mm, aluminium AlMg3 1 to 4 mm, spring steel C75S 0.2 to 1 mm. We cut nothing thicker than 6 mm.
- Tolerance: ISO 2768-m, so ±0.3 mm on a 100 mm edge and ±0.5 mm on 200 to 400 mm.
- Surface: mill finish, no protective film, not brushed and not coated. Deburring is available, ground on one side or tumbled, and worth it from about 3 mm; below that the edge is hardly sharp. If you want stainless with a brushed look, sand it yourself after delivery.
- Weight: steel weighs 7.85 kg per square metre and millimetre, aluminium about 2.7 kg. A 400 × 300 mm plate therefore weighs about 2.8 kg in 3 mm steel and just under 1 kg in 3 mm aluminium.
Common questions about custom metal plates
- Can I have the plate with holes?
- Yes. For an even grid, take the "Flat Plate with Holes" template, our mounting plate. For single holes anywhere, open the flat plate in the sketcher and place each hole by dimension; the price updates with every hole.
- Steel, stainless or aluminium?
- Steel DC01 is the cheapest but rusts and wants painting. Stainless 1.4301 stays clean without treatment, as a splashback or outdoors. Aluminium weighs a third as much and is easy to drill and saw, but needs more thickness for the same stiffness.
- How thick should a base plate be?
- For covers, blanking panels and back panels, 1 to 1.5 mm is enough. Where the plate carries something or must not sag, take 3 mm steel or 4 mm aluminium. For load-bearing parts: do the sums or ask us before you order.
- Can I get the plate round or in another shape?
- Round has its own template, the metal disc. Any other outline you draw in the sketcher or upload as a DXF; the price is there at once either way.
- Is the plate available brushed or powder coated?
- No. It arrives in mill finish or deburred: ground on one side, which leaves fine grinding marks on that side, or tumbled, which makes both sides matte. There is no even brushed grain. You can paint or powder coat it afterwards, yourself or at a local coater; steel DC01 takes paint well because it comes off the cold mill without scale.
