Custom Mounting Plates with a Hole Grid
A rectangular plate with holes in rows and columns; the template is called "Flat Plate with Holes" in the configurator. Width, height, hole diameter, count per direction and edge margin are free, and the configurator spaces the holes evenly between them. Base plate, adapter plate, lid or bracket: whatever needs a hole pattern is made this way in a minute.

What it is for: Base plates for motors, pumps and gearboxes, adapter plates between two hole patterns, mounting plates for control cabinets and electronics, lids and flanges with a bolt circle, perforated plates as tool holders or shelves, pads with fixing points.

Price per piece incl. VAT, plus shipping, for plates with 5.5 mm holes for M5, computed when this page loads with the configurator's own formula. Every hole counts as a cut; the grid moves the price, but less than the area does.
The limits that matter for this plate
- Size: 30 to 1200 mm in both directions, corner radius up to 50 mm.
- Holes: 1 to 20 per direction, 0 to 30 mm diameter, all the same size and evenly spaced, edge margin 5 to 100 mm. For a pattern with uneven spacing or slots, open the template in the sketcher.
- Material and thickness: steel DC01 up to 2.5 mm, structural steel S355MC 3 to 6 mm, stainless 1.4301 up to 5 mm, aluminium AlMg3 up to 4 mm. We do not cut threads; for M5 take a 4.2 mm tapping hole and tap it yourself, or 5.5 mm as clearance.
- Tolerance: ISO 2768-m, which is ±0.3 mm over 120 mm, ±0.5 mm up to 400 mm and ±0.8 mm up to 1000 mm. For hole patterns that have to meet a counterpart, allow 0.5 mm of clearance in the diameter.
- Flat and bright: cut only, not bent, not coated. Deburring is available. Holes should be at least half the sheet thickness; this template's configurator does not check that yet.
Common questions about custom mounting plates
- Can I specify my own hole pattern, say that of a motor?
- The template spaces the holes evenly. For a given pattern, open it in the sketcher and place each hole by dimension, or upload a DXF from your CAD. The price is still there at once.
- Can I get threads in the holes?
- No, we only cut. Choose the tapping hole of the thread size, 5 mm for M6, and tap it yourself; from 3 mm sheet it holds well. Or take clearance holes and nuts.
- Which thickness for a base plate?
- For electronics and light brackets, 2 mm steel or 3 mm aluminium is enough. Motors and pumps up to about 20 kg go on 5 mm S355MC, larger ones on 6 mm. Aluminium saves weight but needs to be about one step thicker.
- Can the plate have a slot or a central cutout?
- Yes, in the sketcher: holes can be stretched into slots there, and a cutout is added as a rectangle. For a central cutout with four corner holes, the enclosure panel is the better template.
- How heavy does the plate get?
- Steel weighs 7.85 kg per square metre and millimetre of thickness, aluminium 2.7 kg. A plate of 300 × 200 mm in 5 mm steel therefore weighs about 2.4 kg, in 4 mm aluminium 0.65 kg. Over 31.5 kg per part we do not ship by parcel; this template only gets there from about 0.7 m² in 6 mm steel.
