Round Metal Discs to Size, With or Without Holes

A circular disc, with a centre hole and holes on a bolt circle if you need them; the template is called "Disc / Circle" in the configurator. In the workshop such a part is a blank or a round, in the DIY store a round metal plate. The laser cuts the circle in one pass, with no corners and no finishing, and the holes in the same run, so bolt circle and outer edge line up.

What it is for: Flange plates and lids with a bolt circle, base plates for tubes and posts, covers for holes and shafts, coasters and blanks for small table tops, turntables and templates, blanks without a hole for welding on.

The limits that matter for this disc

  • Size: 10 to 500 mm diameter, centre hole 0 to 200 mm. A large centre hole turns the disc into a ring; keep the web at least as wide as the sheet is thick. The configurator does not check that.
  • Bolt circle: up to 12 holes, evenly spaced, each up to 15 mm, on a circle of 10 to 400 mm. Here too the configurator does not check that the holes fit the disc: leave at least one sheet thickness of web from each hole to the outer edge, the centre hole and the next hole. For larger holes, uneven spacing or a slot, open the template in the sketcher.
  • Material: steel DC01 up to 2.5 mm, structural steel S355MC 3 to 6 mm, stainless 1.4301 up to 5 mm, aluminium AlMg3 up to 4 mm. The smallest hole is half the sheet thickness, so 3 mm in 6 mm steel. This template's configurator does not check that yet, so watch it yourself in thick sheet.
  • Accuracy: ISO 2768-m, so ±0.3 mm at Ø 100 mm, ±0.5 mm at Ø 300 mm and ±0.8 mm above Ø 400 mm. For a lid that has to fit inside a tube, choose the diameter 1 mm under the measured inside dimension, 1.5 mm above Ø 400 mm, so it still clears at the edge of the tolerance.
  • Weight: a disc of Ø 300 mm weighs about 1.7 kg in 3 mm steel and about 0.6 kg in 3 mm aluminium.

Common questions about round metal discs

Blank, disc, round plate: what is the difference?
None that matters for the order: all mean a flat, round piece of sheet. Metalworkers say blank, DIY stores say round metal plate. Our template is called Disc / Circle.
Can I order a flange plate with a bolt circle?
Yes, you set the bolt circle diameter and the number and size of the holes directly. For a standard flange, enter the dimensions from the standard's table; we do not machine sealing faces or cut threads. Pressure-rated standard flanges are usually thicker than the 6 mm we cut.
How large can the centre hole be?
Up to 200 mm, as long as a rim at least as wide as the sheet thickness remains outside; watch that yourself, the configurator does not check it. A large centre hole makes a ring, such as a cover rosette or a spacer ring. For a small ring with a single hole, the washer is the simpler template.
Can I get a disc larger than 500 mm?
The template stops at 500 mm, the parcel at 550 mm width. Draw a disc of up to 550 mm in the sketcher; anything larger no longer fits a parcel and we do not deliver it at the moment.
