Laser-Cut Metal Signs with Your Text
A sign with your text, from a single piece; the template is called "Engraved Tag" in the configurator. The lettering is not engraved but laser cut through the sheet, in a stencil face whose bridges hold the inner shapes of the letters in place. It reads from both sides, never fades and needs no paint.

What it is for: Name plates and machine tags, name signs on doors and letterboxes, labels for shelves, tool walls and control cabinets, signs for workshop and garden, gifts with a name or a date.

Price per piece incl. VAT, plus shipping, for the lettering "Dynamic Parts" as in the example. Computed when this page loads, with the same formula the configurator uses. A longer text means more cutting and costs a little more. Further materials and thicknesses are available in the configurator.
The limits that matter for this part
- Size: 20 to 600 mm wide, 10 to 300 mm high. The corner radius is free up to half the shorter edge.
- Lettering: three stencil faces, 4 to 60 mm letter height, up to 64 characters. With small lettering the configurator warns when a bridge or a cutout gets too narrow for the chosen sheet thickness.
- Material: any metal in the catalogue, in any thickness listed there. Outdoors, stainless 1.4301 or aluminium AlMg3; indoors, steel DC01 will do, but it rusts when left bare.
- Tolerance: ISO 2768-m, which is ±0.3 mm over 120 mm. The cut edge shows a slight heat tint; deburring is available as a finish.
- Mounting: this template has no holes. For holes, open the template in the sketcher and add them, or glue the tag on.
Common questions about laser-cut metal signs
- Is the text engraved or cut out?
- Cut out. The laser cuts the letters through the whole sheet, which is why only stencil faces are offered: their bridges hold the inner shapes of O, A or B. Engraving that only marks the surface is not something we offer at the moment.
- Which material suits a tag outdoors?
- Stainless 1.4301 does not rust and stays bright. Aluminium AlMg3 is lighter and cheaper and forms a matt, stable oxide layer in air. Steel DC01 is meant for indoors: left bare, it rusts within weeks in the rain.
- How small can the lettering be?
- The template allows 4 mm letter height. Whether that cuts cleanly depends on the sheet thickness: in 1 mm aluminium, 6 to 8 mm is legible and sturdy, in 3 mm steel it should be 10 mm or more. The configurator warns when a bridge gets too narrow for the chosen thickness.
- Can I order several tags with different texts?
- Yes. Each tag is a part of its own: change the text, add to cart, next tag. The quantity discount applies per part, that is to several tags with the same text.
- Can I use my own font or a logo?
- Not in the configurator, which offers the three stencil faces. A logo or a font of your own can be uploaded as a DXF. The contours must be closed, and inner shapes must be tied to the rest by bridges.
